X-Petroleum Limited’s principal line of business is to manage and invest in companies, joint ventures and partnerships in any way.

X-Petroleum Limited is engaged in the exploration, prospecting, development and production of oil and gas resources. The company is a public unlisted company and was incorporated in May 2017, under the laws of Pakistan.

The Company’s objective is to be one of the leading oil & gas exploration and production companies in Pakistan by enhancing its reserves and production profile primarily by investing in non-operated stakes in producing and exploratory blocks.

The Company plans to expand its business by entering into sectors like thermal and renewable power, steel, FMCG and digital diversification.

Ali Ansari is the Director and Chairman of X-Petroleum. He is a seasoned entrepreneur and finance professional having over 30 years of experience in both local and international institutions. Prior to this, he was the President of Engro Corporation, Founder and CEO of Dewan Drilling, Chief Executive Officer of AKD Securities, Chief Executive Officer Pakistan and later Chief Operating Officer – Emerging Europe for Credit Lyonnais Securities Asia (CLSA), and an Investment Manager at Bank of America in London.

Ali has over 10 years’ experience in the Energy sector and was responsible for a major turn-around at Engro and expanded its foot-print in the Energy sector through the landmark 600MMSCFD LNG terminal and 1320MW Thar projects. He has chaired all Engro subsidiaries, NCCPL and also served on Boards of Karachi Stock Exchange, Dawood Hercules Corporation Limited, Hubco, Lucky Cement, Al Meezan Investment Management amongst others. He is the Chairman of Pakistan Refinery Limited.

Naz Khan is the Director of X-Petroleum. She is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience. Prior to X-Petroleum, she was the Chief Financial Officer at Engro Corporation Limited during which period the company undertook restructurings, IPOs and divestitures of its subsidiaries as well as growth through two landmark projects of 600MMSCFD LNG terminal and 1320MW Thar coal power project. She has also held the positions of Chief Executive Officer of Engro Eximp Agri Products (Private) Limited and Chief Financial Officer of Engro Fertilizers Ltd. as well as serving on the on the boards of various Engro companies.

Prior to Engro, Naz was the Chief Executive Officer of KASB Funds Ltd. Her association with Pakistan's capital markets spans over 19 years where she during which she has been actively involved in primary as well as secondary markets for both debt and equity securities and has led major capital market transactions in each. Naz has also worked as a consultant for the Asian Development Bank on Mortgage Backed Securities. She is currently a director of Shell Pakistan Limited

The Company has successfully executed a transaction of approximately USD 75 million.

Asia Resources Oil Limited (AROL) is a company incorporated in Canada having operations in Pakistan. AROL’s operations include 10% working interest in one of the largest discoveries in the country, Gambat South (a producing asset) as well as in Kotri North and Naushahro Feroz (exploratory assets). It was in dispute with the Operator PPL and had been served default notices.

XPL negotiated an end to the dispute, raised and paid USD 56 million to PPL to cure the default and arranged the sale of AROL to United Energy Group which is the largest international oil and gas company operating in Pakistan.
